In 1885, Walter Knott and his family settled in Buena Park, California, on what was then a small berry farm. In order to make ends meet, the family sold berries, jams, and pies from a roadside stand. As word of mouth spread about their delicious wares, the Knott family began to attract more and more customers.

In 1920, Walter Knott began construction on a new building to house his growing business. He decided to name it "Knott's Berry Farm" after his family's farm. The new building featured a restaurant, which quickly became a popular destination for both locals and tourists.

In 1940, Walter Knott married Cordelia May and the couple had three children: Rhoda, Gary, and Sandra. The family continued to operate the farm and business, and in 1950, they added a small amusement park to the property. The park featured a few rides and attractions, including a replica of the Liberty Bell.

As the years went by, the amusement park continued to grow. Today, Knott's Berry Farm is one of the most popular theme parks in the world, with millions of visitors each year. The park is home to dozens of rides, shows, and attractions, making it a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
